Group Therapy

The Power of Group Therapy at Cornerstone Counseling

Growth doesn’t happen in isolation. At Cornerstone Counseling, we recognize that healing unfolds in connection—in spaces where experiences are witnessed, patterns become clear, and new ways of being are practiced in real time. Group therapy offers something individual work alone cannot: the wisdom of shared experience and the opportunity to step beyond old narratives in the presence of others who understand.

Our groups are designed with intention and depth, blending trauma-informed guidance, nervous system attunement, and practical skills to create spaces where real change takes root. Whether you’re working through the echoes of past experiences, learning to navigate relationships with more clarity, or strengthening your ability to hold steady in life’s uncertainty, group work accelerates insight and transformation in a way that is both profound and practical.

With facilitators trained in somatic processing, relational dynamics, and evidence-based approaches, we don’t just teach skills—we help you integrate them. Here, you are not just a participant; you are part of a collective, a space that reflects your growth back to you in ways that are both challenging and deeply affirming.

DBT Skills Group – Payment & Commitment Policy

Participation in the DBT Skills Group is a commitment to yourself, the group process, and the therapeutic container we co-create together. In alignment with DBT principles, this group emphasizes accountability, effectiveness, and follow-through as part of the work.

Program Fees

  • $35 per session
  • 8-week program total: $280

Participants are financially responsible for the entire 8-week program, regardless of attendance. This policy reflects the structured nature of skills-based group work and supports consistency, cohesion, and therapeutic momentum for all members.

Pay-in-Full Option

To support accessibility and commitment:

  • A reduced rate of $265 is available for participants who choose to pay in full prior to the start of the group

Why Full Commitment Matters (DBT-Informed Rationale)

In DBT, we practice skills such as:

  • Commitment & Effectiveness: Choosing actions that move us toward long-term goals, even when motivation fluctuates
  • Opposite Action: Showing up consistently, especially when avoidance or emotional discomfort might pull us away
  • Wise Mind Decision-Making: Planning ahead rather than reacting in the moment

Committing financially to the full program supports engagement, reduces drop-off, and strengthens the group’s ability to function as a stable and supportive learning environment.

Attendance & Missed Sessions

  • No refunds or credits are provided for missed sessions
  • Group materials or summaries may be provided at the facilitator’s discretion, but missed content cannot be recreated individually
  • If you anticipate barriers to consistent attendance, we encourage discussing this prior to enrollment to determine best fit

Financial Accessibility

We strive to balance fair compensation, ethical group practices, and accessibility. Reduced pay-in-full pricing is offered as one way to support participants while maintaining program sustainability. Additional financial concerns may be discussed prior to group start.

Agreement

By enrolling in the DBT Skills Group, participants acknowledge and agree to this payment and commitment policy as part of their participation.
