Maybe you have heard the saying, “It works if you work it” – this implies that therapy works best when there is a commitment from both of us.  I enjoy working with individuals and families who are willing and invested in their own self discovery. Through this journey  of self discovery you are opening yourself up to exploring unpleasant aspects of your life which may include discussing uncomfortable feelings such as sadness, guilt, anxiety, anger, frustration, loneliness, and helplessness.  However, despite the risks, therapy has been shown to have benefits for individuals who undertake it.  Therapy often leads to a significant reduction in feelings of distress, increased satisfaction in interpersonal relationships, greater self-awareness and insight, increased skills for managing stress and resolutions to specific problems.
