EMDR Therapy with Kristina Dezendorf, LMSW

If you’ve been feeling stuck in anxiety, painful memories, self-doubt, or patterns you can’t seem to shift, EMDR therapy may offer the support you’ve been looking for.

Kristina Dezendorf, LMSW, is now offering EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) at Cornerstone Counseling. EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps people process and heal from distressing life experiences. Even those that have felt “locked” in the body or mind for years.

What Is EMDR Therapy?

EMDR is a structured therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing experiences so they no longer feel as emotionally charged or overwhelming. It supports the nervous system in completing its natural healing process — without needing to re-tell, re-live or reinforce every detail of the trauma. It works WITH your nervous system for present day repair.

EMDR is now widely used to support healing in areas like:

• Trauma and complex PTSD

• Anxiety and panic

• Grief and loss

• Negative self-beliefs

• Attachment wounds

• Life transitions and stress

• Childhood experiences that still affect you today

What Working with Kristina Looks Like

Kristina is Level 1 trained in EMDR and offers this work under the ongoing supervision of two Certified EMDR Consultants, ensuring that every session is approached with safety, integrity, and deep clinical care.

Her therapy style is relational, warm, and grounded in the belief that healing happens when we feel safe enough to explore and move forward.

Is EMDR Right for You?

If traditional talk therapy hasn’t touched the deeper layers of your pain, EMDR might be the next right step. It can help you feel more present, less reactive, and more connected to your values, voice, and sense of self.
